Sabatier Architecture is a Lafayette, Louisiana-based firm specializing in custom residential design, with projects throughout Louisiana and the greater South.
Your home may be the most complex, personal, and expensive project you'll ever undertake — and we take that seriously. You hire our minds to think three-dimensionally: to define what you need, envision the best solution, and turn it into documents that build it right. Every project is shaped around the vision of the individual client we're designing for.
We'd welcome the opportunity to help turn your dream home into reality.
Owner, Principal, Lead Architect
Bennett's career began over 30 years ago with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. After earning his license, he spent several years at a prestigious luxury residential firm in Dallas, honing his craft before returning home to Lafayette. In 2004, he founded Sabatier Architecture.
In the two decades since, Bennett has become one of Louisiana's most trusted residential architects — an approved designer in Traditional Neighborhood Developments across the state, with an extensive portfolio of custom homes throughout Louisiana and beyond. His work is guided by a commitment to timeless, livable design, and he regularly donates his time to design homes for Habitat for Humanity.
Kevin, a native of Lafayette, graduated from University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in Architecture. He gained his first experience in residential design at a local firm. From there he developed his portfolio working on a variety of projects including educational, commercial and government work. He brings 15 years of commercial design knowledge to his almost 20 year career and has been with Sabatier Architecture since 2021.
Designing a home or addition unfolds in phases, each focused on a different aspect of the project. These phases can overlap depending on the nature of your project, but understanding each one is key to grasping the full scope of the design process.
Our first meeting is usually just to get acquainted and see whether we're a good fit to pursue your project together — there's no pressure to commit to anything at this stage. Bring whatever you've gathered so far: a site map, photos, sketches, and the like.
The best thing you can do to make the process smoother is research. Set up your own accounts on Pinterest and/or Houzz to organize your thoughts and figure out what you like. Create separate boards for each room in your house, and when you pin an image, note what you like about it — that tells us exactly what you're after.
